Common challenges

Why early pipeline in Indonesia is often slow

Many companies enter Indonesia with a good product and a clear plan, then find that marketing from abroad does not create local conversations.

Translated messaging that does not land

Direct translations often sound stiff or miss what Indonesian buyers care about. Messages need local context, the right level of formality and examples buyers recognize.

Invisible where local buyers search

Indonesian buyers search in both Indonesian and English, and local terms often differ from what headquarters expects. Without local keyword research, campaigns miss relevant searches.

Unclear who decides

Buying structures differ between multinationals, local groups, state-owned enterprises and family businesses. Reaching the wrong role slows everything down.

Distance from the market

Time zone gaps, WhatsApp-first communication habits and no local team make it hard to follow up quickly with interested prospects.

Our approach

Local demand generation, run from Jakarta, reported in English

We start by placing your positioning in the Indonesian context: which problems matter locally, which proof points resonate, and which industries and company types to prioritize first. Then we agree with your team what a qualified Indonesian lead looks like.

Campaigns run where Indonesian buyers actually look: local search, paid ads, LinkedIn and targeted outreach, supported by Indonesian-language landing pages. Qualified prospects go to your sales team or local partner with context, and progress is reported in English every one to two weeks.

  • Positioning and messaging adapted for Indonesian buyers
  • Campaigns in Bahasa Indonesia, English, or both
  • Research on local target accounts and decision-makers
  • Landing pages with local contact options such as WhatsApp
  • English reporting for headquarters and regional teams
Scope

What SAB handles for your Indonesia pipeline

The final scope depends on your entry stage and is written into the proposal. These are the components we usually work on.

Localized messaging

Adapting your value proposition, examples and calls to action for Indonesian buyers, in natural Bahasa Indonesia rather than literal translation.

Local keyword and market research

Researching how Indonesian buyers search for your category in Indonesian and English, and which competitors already appear.

Local search and paid ads

Google Ads, LinkedIn and Meta campaigns targeted to Indonesia, with audiences, budgets and messages built for the local market.

Prospect research

Lists of target companies and roles in Indonesia that match your ideal customer profile, for outreach and account-based campaigns.

Indonesian landing pages

Dedicated pages in Bahasa Indonesia or bilingual, with local contact options and forms built to qualify enquiries.

Meeting pipeline

Qualifying responses and arranging introductory meetings for your sales team, distributor or partner, following the handover process we agree on.

How it works

From first call to a working local pipeline

SAB works in four stages: discovery, strategy, execution and optimization. Here is how that looks for a market-entry program.

30-minute discovery call

We learn your product, target segments, entry stage and who will handle sales in Indonesia, so we can judge whether demand generation is the right next step.

Market and message review

We research local search behavior, competitors and buyer roles, adapt your messaging, and agree what counts as a qualified lead.

Channel plan and setup

We propose channels, languages, landing pages and tracking, and set out scope, timing and measures in a written proposal.

Launch and pipeline building

Campaigns and outreach go live in stages. Qualified prospects are handed to your team or partner with notes on their needs.

Review and adjust

Every one to two weeks we report in English, compare results with sales feedback, and refine segments, messages and budget.

Options compared

Run it from headquarters, hire locally, or work with SAB

Each route can work. The right one depends on how far along your entry is and how much you already know about local demand.

You will still need a local sales team or partner to close deals and serve customers. Some companies use an agency to test demand first, then hire locally with clearer data.

Practical guide

What to know before generating B2B leads in Indonesia

These points come up in most market-entry projects. They are practical marketing advice, not legal advice. For licensing, company setup or tax questions, consult a qualified local advisor.

Localize, do not just translate

Write the Indonesian version from the buyer's point of view. Replace foreign examples with local ones where you can, explain how you serve Indonesian customers, and keep the tone professional without being stiff.

Plan for two languages

Many B2B buyers in Indonesia read English, but searches and conversations often happen in Bahasa Indonesia. Research keywords in both and decide per segment which language leads.

Make local contact easy

WhatsApp is widely used for business communication in Indonesia, and many prospects prefer it to a foreign contact form. Show who will serve them locally and how support works after purchase.

Map the decision-making group

Decisions in many Indonesian companies involve several people, and senior approval matters. Identify the user, the evaluator and the approver, and prepare content that answers each one's questions.

Respect data protection rules

Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP, Law No. 27 of 2022) governs how personal data is collected and used. A public phone number or email is not consent to market. Keep consent records and offer an easy opt-out.

Test segments before scaling

Start with two or three priority segments, such as one industry in Greater Jakarta, and compare response and meeting rates. Scale only what produces qualified conversations.

Is this the right support for your Indonesia plan?

We focus on marketing and lead generation. Here is a quick check.

A good fit if

  • You are a foreign or regional B2B company selling, or planning to sell, in Indonesia
  • You have a defined offer and someone to handle sales conversations
  • You want to test local demand before or alongside hiring
  • You need Indonesian-language campaigns with English reporting
  • You can share feedback on lead quality regularly

Probably not a fit yet if

  • You need company registration, licensing or legal services
  • No one is available to follow up with Indonesian prospects
  • You only need a one-off translation
  • Your product cannot yet be sold or delivered in Indonesia
Cost

What affects the cost of a market-entry lead generation program

We do not use fixed packages, because entry plans differ widely. Cost is built from the factors below and explained in the proposal.

Segments and languages

Each industry segment and language version needs its own research, messaging and creative.

Channels and media spend

Search, LinkedIn, Meta and outreach each need different setup. Media spend is paid to the platforms and sized to your goals.

Assets to create

Indonesian landing pages, localized sales material and tracking setup add work at the start of the program.

Meeting pipeline and reporting

Qualification, meeting coordination and reporting to several stakeholders, such as headquarters and regional teams, affect ongoing effort.

Media spend is paid separately to ad platforms. Taxes, scope and timeline are set out in the proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Do you help with company registration or legal setup in Indonesia?

No. SAB focuses on marketing and lead generation. For company registration, licensing, tax or legal questions, please work with a qualified local consultant or law firm.

Can we start generating leads before we have a local entity?

Marketing campaigns can often start early, but contracts, payments and some platform settings may depend on your legal setup. We discuss what is practical during discovery, and you should confirm requirements with your legal advisor.

Do you guarantee meetings or sales?

No. Results depend on your offer, pricing, market fit and how your team follows up. We agree on the measures we track before launch, and any performance commitment only applies if it is written in a signed agreement.

Which languages do you work in?

We work in Bahasa Indonesia and English. Campaigns can run in either or both, and reporting can be in English for headquarters.

Who handles the meetings with prospects?

Your sales team, regional office or local partner. We build and qualify the pipeline and hand prospects over with context. Closing and contracts stay with you.

Which industries have you worked with?

SAB client projects span sectors including energy and education, as shown in our case studies at sab.id/works. Fit depends more on your offer and buyer than on industry alone.

How do we work across time zones?

We are based in Jakarta (UTC+7). We agree on a regular meeting slot that suits your team and share written updates every one to two weeks, so progress is clear without frequent calls.

How do we get started?

Book a 30-minute discovery call at schedule.sab.id or message us on WhatsApp. Share your product, target industries in Indonesia and who will handle sales locally.

Discuss your Indonesia entry plan

Send a short overview of your product, your target industries in Indonesia, who will handle sales locally, and any results from earlier campaigns in the region.
